Pre-Purchase Survey

A pre-purchase survey details the boat’s condition and gives an objective valuation of the boat. The purchaser of the boat, new or used, retains the services of a marine surveyor to protect their interests on the investment. This is a complete and thorough, non-destructive visual inspection of all areas and systems of a vessel.

Insurance Valuation Survey

An insurance valuation survey is obtained by the owner for both his and the insurance company’s benefit. This would determine the amount of coverage to place on the vessel, and/or deem it insurable.

Appraisal

A boat owner may want an appraisal done of the vessel prior to offering it for sale.

Damage Report

If the boat has been damaged, a damage report would be required for insurance and repair purposes.

Bottom Inspection

In order for a bottom inspection to occur, prior arrangement is necessary for the vessel to be hauled out by a travel lift or trailer. Additional charges may apply by the professional performing these services.

Miscellaneous Testing

Moisture in the wrong places can damage a boat, and if you suspect occurrences in your vessel, specific testing can be performed in osmosis testing and corrosion analysis.

NOTE: An oil analysis can also be performed, however it is most important to know that this cannot be performed if the oil has just been changed.
